In June, contents for Season Pass 6 ended with the release of Gust Swimwear. After one month without any DLC, Season Pass 7 for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (DOA5LR) is released, together with a new pack of costumes.
This new pack is another swimwear set called “Zack Island Swimwear”. The girls get bikinis from Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, hence the name. But there are also costumes for all the guys. So there are swimwear or beachwear for all characters except Mai Shiranui. This pack is known as “Finest Vacation Costumes” in Japan.
This is also any male characters are getting new costumes since last December and Virtua Fighter characters getting any at all since the last Halloween pack. Just to mention, Eliot and Gen Fu are getting shirtless costumes for the first time in the history of DOA.
On a side note, guest character Mai Shiranui does not get any new costumes since her debut in DOA5LR last September, which means she only has 7 selectable costumes in the game. Seems like there is a restriction in the collaboration contract that prevents her from getting any more costumes.
The unique thing about these swimwear is that there are 2 designs for each costume. When you use them, they can transform into the variation design when performing a Cliff Hanger attack, a Power Blow or a Taunt, similar to the Schoolgirl Striker mashup costumes released in November 2015. Unfortunately, this feature is not available for the PC version.
These costumes are released for PS4/ Xbox One/ PC (Steam). Individual costume is priced at US$2.99 (¥308) and the bundle set of all 35 costumes is US$36.99 (¥3890). As usual, PC version is only sold in pack, not separately.
This set is also the first pack included in Season Pass 7. Pass owners do not need to buy again.
There will be no new DLC next month. DLC will resume in October with the fan-designed Halloween costumes. There will also be 35 costumes in the Halloween 2017 set.
