As reported earlier in the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (DOA5LR) Update Announcements post, there will be an update and a new set of DLC costumes due out on 11th August (Tuesday). Team NINJA has now released full information on the update and the costumes.
This version 1.04 update is a major update that includes bug fixes, gameplay balance and a brand new stage called “Fireworks”, which looks like a night stage from the DOA Xtreme series, complete with volleyball net and a Zack statue. The update is free and so is the stage. However, the new stage, like the built-in Danger Zone and Crimson stages, is only available for PS4/ Xbox One, while the patch itself will only be released later for PS3/ Xbox 360.
[Updated 12 Aug] The update for PS3 is available now, for Xbox 360 is next week.
[Updated 17 Aug] The update for Xbox 360 is also released.
Other than the stage, a new background music is also added as well as the ability to take black and white photos. Among the characters with gameplay balance, Honoka, being the newest character, has the most changes. You can view all the update details here (link to US official website).
The new paid DLC costume pack contains 16 striped swimsuits called “Lovely Summer” in Japan but is somehow renamed to “Hot Summer” in the west. It is the second set of costumes included in Season Pass 2 but can also be purchased separately. The first set is costumes designed by Tamiki Wakaki released last month.
These costumes are available for all female characters except Pai, Sarah and Alpha-152. The release is for all console platforms: PS4/ PS3/ Xbox One/ Xbox 360. The prices are the usual US$1.99 (¥206) for each costume and US$18.99 (¥2000) for the bundle set of all 16 costumes.
The next pack of DLC are 16 new costumes collaborated with Nihon Falcom (link to Japanese website) game series, scheduled to release sometime next month.
