In October 2013, Team NINJA released the first pack of Halloween costumes for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (DOA5U). Since then, it has become a tradition to release Halloween costumes every year for the DOA5 series. This year Halloween costumes are the 5th set releasing for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (DOA5LR).
All characters get a costume except, as usual, the guest character Mai Shiranui. So there are a total of 35 costumes.
The designs of these costumes are based on selected entries from the official Halloween costume contest held earlier from March to May this year. The 35 designs were selected from over 1500 worldwide entries by Team NINJA’s staff members, including the producer, director and art director.
These costumes are again released for PS4/ Xbox One/ PC (Steam). The prices are US$1.99 (¥206) for each costume and US$27.49 (¥2980) for the bundle set of all 35 costumes. PC version is only sold in pack, not separately.
This is also the 2nd pack included in Season Pass 7 (SP7). Pass owners do not need to buy again. The first pack from SP7 is Zack Island Swimwear released last month.

It was announced last month during Tokyo Game Show that DOA5LR Core Fighters has exceeded 10 million downloads worldwide. To commemorate this event, a special costume for Marie Rose is available for free from 18 Oct to 8 Nov 2017. But the condition to download is that you have to be a subscription member of PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold.
This costume is based on the outfit of Opoona, the protagonist of the sci-fi themed RPG with the same name. Marie Rose first appeared with this costume as a collaboration in Koei Tecmo action game Warriors All-Stars.
There will be no new DLC next month. The next DLC, contents still unknown, will be released in December. It will have 35 costumes and will also be the last pack for SP7. But whether is it also the last-last pack for DOA5LR remains to be seen. How many costumes do we need for a fighting game?
