Since 2013, Team NINJA has been releasing Halloween costumes for the Dead or Alive 5 series. This year, it is the third time for them to do so. This Halloween set has costumes for every character in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (DOA5LR) including Alpha-152, who is getting its (her) second DLC “costume”.
The designs of these costumes are based on submitted entries from the official Halloween costume contest held earlier in May this year. Unlike last year, this contest did not have public voting, so all designs were instead chosen by Team NINJA’s staff members including the producer, director and art director.
This is the fourth set of costumes included in Season Pass 2 but can also be purchased separately. The first set is costumes designed by Tamiki Wakaki, second is Hot Summer costumes and third is the Nihon Falcom costumes released last month.
These costumes are available for all 34 characters and for all platforms: PS4/ PS3/ Xbox One/ Xbox 360/ PC (Steam). Individual costume is priced at US$1.99 (¥206) and the bundle set of all 34 costumes is US$27.99 (¥2880), the same price as last year’s set. PC version is only sold in a pack and for some reasons, the bundle for Xbox 360 is split into 2 sets.
Also, according to the official website, this Halloween costume pack is the last DLC for PS3/ Xbox 360 due to hardware limitations. This means all the upcoming DLCs are only for PS4/ Xbox One/ PC (Steam).
Next month DLC pack is another 16-costume collaboration set, this time with Schoolgirl Strikers (link to Japanese website), which is an RPG game for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Just going by the name, you will know that this next set is for female characters only.
