Just as anticipated last month, a new set of DLC costumes for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round (DOA5LR) is released today. This time the costumes are again a collaboration with another game, like the previously released Senran Kagura costumes. The only difference is that this collaboration is with one of their (Koei Tecmo’s) own game – Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess (link to Japanese official website).
This costume set is available for 13 female and 3 male characters. The release is for all console platforms: PS4/ PS3/ Xbox One/ Xbox 360 and also included in the Season Pass for PS4/ Xbox One. (You can see all the DLC costumes released for DOA5LR on this page.)
On PS4/ Xbox One, also like the Senran Kagura costumes, these outfits are destructible. As you fight, the costumes can be destroyed with a powerful hit like a Critical Burst or Power Blow, or when hit against obstacles. Of course there is no “total” destruction, some parts will always remain. Like before, this feature is not available on PS3/ Xbox 360.
And again like the Senran Kagura costumes, they are more expensive than any previously released DLC. Individual costume is priced at US$2.99 (¥308) instead of the usual US$1.99 (¥206). The bundle set of all 16 costumes is US$33.99 (¥3428). As a comparison, the previous Fighter Force pack, also with 16 costumes, is selling at US$22.99 (¥2467).
The next known DLC pack after this is the fan-designed Halloween Costumes 2015 to be released in October. The design contest was held last month. Whether there will be any new DLC releasing within July to September is still unknown at the moment.
