Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 (DOAX3) official website has been updated with new information and media. The new trailer can be watched above. It seems like Team NINJA is going to release new details in a monthly schedule until the game is released on 25th February next year.
This month, new screenshots of 3 more characters are revealed. Most notable is that NyoTengu has lost her wings in DOAX3. The Bath Poster sample shown earlier indicated that this would happen. It is obvious playing some games like “Butt Battle” with her wings attached is obstructive. More confirmed activities are “Pool Hopping” and “Tug of War”.
However, the real new “feature” is that “Loose Clothing” can happen in the game. “Clothing” in this case means “Bikini”. So even if your character is wearing the same swimsuit, it is possible to see the realistic “Tan Lines”. The main reason is of course to display the sexiness rendered by the power of Soft Skin Engine v2.0 (SSE2).
[Updated 24 Nov] The “Sun Tanning” and “Loose Clothing” features are only available on DOAX3 Fortune (PS4) that supports SSE2. All released screenshots are PS4 version. DOAX3 Venus (PS Vita) runs on Soft Skin Engine Lite.
According to the website, one whole vacation on Zack Island is 14 days. Each day is divided into 4 durations: morning, afternoon, evening and night. From morning to evening, you can engage in the activities, which includes Volleyball, Butt Battle, Pool Hopping, Tug of War and more to be announced, or choose a location to relax, where you will be shown a cut scene of your character doing something casual. This is when you can take photos and save them for later viewing.
Another thing you can do is to go shopping by visiting a shop. When you shop for a swimsuit or some other item, you can buy it for your character or wrap it up and send to another character as a gift. During night time, you can either send a gift, go to the Casino to gamble or sleep immediately.
It sounds like the gameplay is more or less the same as in DOAX2. The improvement is mainly in the graphic presentation and the realistic rendering of human flesh. More details of the system and new activities will be revealed sometime next month. Stay tuned on Twitter @ArtmicArcade.
