Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 (DOAX3) official website has again been updated with new information and media. The new trailer can be watched above. This time, the trailer is a 4-min promotion video instead of a short movie.
In this month updates, new screenshots of the last 3 characters are revealed. Returning activity is “Beach Flags”. This is still a simple game that uses two buttons for “Dash” and “Jump”. A new activity “Rock Climbing” is confirmed. This new time-attack game has two different courses, one for beginners and one for advanced players. Also, a brief screenshot shows that “Pole Dancing” is in the game but without further information.
Another new “feature” of Soft Skin Engine v2.0 (SSE2) is the “deformation” of breasts and butt when press against hard objects or surface. This happens in real time, like when your character hugs something such as a lifebuoy. The effect can also be seen when the character reaches the top during Rock Climbing.
Again, all released screenshots are from DOAX3 Fortune (PS4) that supports SSE2. DOAX3 Venus (PS Vita) runs on Soft Skin Engine Lite. Butt Bounce, Loose Clothing, Suntanning, Deformation effects are NOT available on PS Vita.
Owner Mode
Here comes the new gameplay feature. DOAX3 will have 2 modes: “Girl Mode” and “Owner Mode”. Girl Mode is the traditional mode when you play as a female character the usual way. The new Owner Mode is when you replace Zack as the owner of the island. It is possible to switch between the two modes during vacation. After switching, you can interact with the character like you are in the game. The girl will also talk to you like you are there.
As the owner, your ultimate aim is to make the girl happy. When a girl is satisfied with you, she is willing to do more things. In Owner Mode, a very happy character is willing to change into a swimsuit you gave her on the spot. You are supposed to “close your eyes”, if you “open your eyes” halfway, you could see the character half-dressed, but the friendship or “satisfaction” level will go down. How this is actually going to play out is not clear yet.
Then there is also an “Owner Shop” where only the owner can use. This is the shop where rare items and “legendary” swimsuits like “Fortune” and “Venus” are being sold. “Fortune” can only be obtained in the PS4 version and “Venus” in PS Vita. Owner also has a level gauge based on experience. You need to level up by continue to keep your girl happy to unlock items or features in the Owner Shop.
This Owner Mode is obviously built for PlayStation VR, which DOAX3 will support. It basically makes you become the boyfriend of the character in first-person view. When DOAX3 was announced, Team NINJA mentioned that spending time with a character is more intimate, now we know what they meant.
