Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 (DOAX3) official website has just been updated. No new trailer this week since a 5-minute promotion video was just released last week. There are minor details on Gift Giving, Owner Shop, Data Sharing and new screenshots of the Fortune, Venus and Collector’s Edition swimsuits.

During vacation, you can play in “Girl Mode” or “Owner Mode”. Girl Mode is the traditional mode same as in DOAX2, which you play as a female character. There is a “Friendship Level” between the girls. In Owner Mode, you play as if you are in the game trying to befriend a girl and make her happy. In this case, there is a “Satisfaction Level” within the girl.
In Girl Mode, it is usually difficult to gift a skimpy swimsuit to another girl. You have to increase the Friendship Level by involving in activities with her and buying her smaller items as gift. You should also observe the “Musical Note” (♪) above her portrait in the bottom left. The more ♪ she has, the higher is the Friendship Level.
The screenshots below show gifting in Girl Mode. Momiji rejected the revealing swimsuit from Helena as no musical note is seen above her portrait.
In Owner Mode, the girl’s portrait has a hue of color surrounding it. If you see Pink, she is in good mood and her Satisfaction Level is high. If it is Blue, it means she is moody and definitely not a good time to give her a skimpy costume or a pole-dancing ticket. Using a wrapping paper in her favorite color will also give her a better impression.
The screenshots below show gifting in Owner Mode and NyoTengu accepted the gift as there is a pink hue surrounding her portrait.
Owner Shop and Data Sharing
In Owner Mode, there is an “Owner Shop” and also an “Owner Level” associate with you as the player. The Owner Level is your experience as the owner. The higher the level, the more rare items will appear in the Owner Shop for you to buy.
The most exotic swimsuits in the games are the Fortune and Venus. Fortune is only obtainable in the PS4 version and Venus only in PS Vita. These 2 swimsuits can only be bought in the Owner Shop and cost 1 million Zack Dollars each. Not only it will take a while for you to acquire the amount but you will have to reach a certain Owner Level before they even appear for you to buy. And the girl you are going to gift to must have a high Satisfaction Level at the time of gifting. Definitely not an easy task to get a girl into one of these.
For data sharing, first you have to own both versions of the game. When you reach a certain Owner Level in PS4 and manage to buy the Fortune in the Owner Shop, you will be able to use it in PS Vita. Note that the Owner Level in PS Vita will not change to what the level is in PS4, only the costume will appear. And vice versa for the Venus in PS Vita.

Collector’s Edition Swimsuits
Both PS4 and PS Vita versions have Collector’s Editions (CE) that include a set of 9 Xtreme Sexy Costumes each. In the PS4 CE, you get the “F” Set. PS Vita CE gets the “V” Set. All costumes in both sets are different but can be shared between versions. Again, if you own both versions, once you downloaded the “F” Set into PS4, you will see it in PS Vita and vice versa for the “V” Set.
The images below show Kasumi wearing a one-piece suit from the “F” Set. All the costumes in the “F” Set will have similar one-piece-suit designs.
The screenshots below show 3 swimsuits from the “V” Set, in which all costumes feature leaves motifs as design.
DOA5 Costumes
Some costumes from Dead or Alive 5 are also included. It is unclear whether they are still exclusive to the character or will be interchangeable in DOAX3.
One last news that only concerns people in Japan, but just for your information, Team NINJA is organizing a “Release Day Lucky Draw” in Japan. The rough details are that purchase the game(s) in any participating shops, bring the receipt or invoice to either two locations, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka, on the release day (24th March) to join.
