Dead or Alive Festival was first announced at the beginning of last month. It is actually a fan thanksgiving event and the first international event for the Dead or Alive 5 series. [Updated 30 Jul] The promotion trailer is added above.
The festival will be held on 1st August (Saturday) at Tokyo, Japan from 10:00am to 5:00pm Japan Standard Time (JST). The exact location is at the Osaki Bright Core Hall. Admission is free.
Any DOA fan from any country can just go to the event and get involved. You could join the tournament or just be a spectator, watch the cosplay, meet other DOA fans, play casual matches, take some photos and have fun along the way. Of course, the only catch is that you must pay for your own plane ticket to Tokyo if you are not already in Japan.
One of the special guests at the event will be Team NINJA leader and producer Yosuke Hayashi himself. [Updated 24 Jul] Mai Aizawa (voice actress of Marie Rose) and Ai Nonaka (voice actress of Honoka) are also confirmed to be special guests on that day.

Now we know that the results of Designers Challenge 2015 (Halloween Costumes Design Contest) held in May this year will be announced at the event, as well as some new information will be revealed after the World Exhibition Match.
[Updated 30 Jul] 4 hours of the festival Live Stream will be available on YouTube from 1:00pm (JST) on the day of the event. JST is UTC+9, convert to your local time so you will know when to watch.

Below are some highlights: [1] Main Program
The main event is the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round World Exhibition Match. For the first time, a DOA5 tournament has players from around the world to compete. There will be pre-selected top players: one Japan representative, 2 from USA, 2 from Europe/Oceania and 2 from Asia.
Team NINJA will also hold Final Trials at the event and select another 9 players on-the-spot. You can still join the tournament on the actual day by registering on-site to test your skill.
[2] Cosplay ContestIf you prefer not to fight, you could dress up as a DOA character and join this contest. Participants must first send a photo of themselves wearing a DOA costume to the email specified on the official site by 20th July. Once qualified, you will be informed by email on 22nd July and need to be present at the event on the actual day to compete.
[3] Photo ContestThis is actually a screenshot contest. Participants are to submit in-game screenshots based on 3 themes: Cool, Cute and Funny. The screenshots must be submitted beforehand by 12th July through various methods described on the official site. Public voting for the submitted entries will start on 27th July. Winners are decided by online votes, event votes and stage judges.

[4] Free StuffLast but not least, there will be free stuff given to attendees. By just entering the festival, you will be given some gifts. The most notable gift is the download code of new Marie Rose collaboration costume (PS4 only), which will be given at the end of the event (shown below).
